Coyle hails Burnley's "magnificent achievement" Burnley manager Owen Coyle claimed his players earned their place in the club's historical annuls after beating Arsenal 2-0 to reach the Carling Cup semi-finals. The Clarets earned a second consecutive victory over one of the self-proclaimed 'big four', following their fourth-round penalty shootout win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last time out. And Coyle was full of praise for his in-form team, who are currently riding high in the Championship, for their display against Arsene Wenger's talented youngsters. "To reach the semi-final is a magnificent achievement for the club," he said. "It was a real football atmosphere and went a long way to adding to the history of this football club." Burnley have just one defeat in their last six games, including their famous win in west London last month. And Coyle said the level of performance was particularly pleasing against a team that had scored nine goals on their way to knocking out Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic in the previous two rounds.
