Baby boomers offered cheaper cruises
They are part of a generation born out of their parents’ happiness of being alive in a newly war-free era, and now the baby boomers’ future is set to get even brighter.
MSC Cruises Europe is offering those from this generation the chance to save at least 60 per cent on their cruises and get even more value for money when they bring their grandkids along.
Holidaymakers can take MSC Cruises Europe up on the deal on its cruises to Mediterranean destinations on its two newest oceanliners - MSC Fantasia, which debuts in December 2008, and MSC Splendida, which will set sail for the first time next spring.
Other oceanliners are also featured in the deal, including customer favourites MSC Sinfonia, MSC Melody, MSC Poesia, MSC Musica and MSC Armo.
A range of cruises to selected Northern Europe destinations are offering baby boomers the chance to bring their grandchildren on board for no extra cost.
The conditions of the offer are that each grandparent may bring as many as two children on boar and the kids must be aged under 18, staying in the same room with two full-fare paying adults.
It seems that cruise customers are being spoiled for choice in the coming months.
Princess Cruises, which bills itself as the world’s most romantic cruise line, has launched a new cruiseliner the Ruby Princess, for holidaymakers who like to inject some passion into their travels.
The new ship was launched with a ruby red ceremony, which features champagne and an no-expenses spared ceremony.
Alan Buckelew, Princess Cruises president and chief executive officer, said: “It's only fitting that as the most romantic cruise line in the industry, we celebrate the naming of our newest ship with a tribute to romantic milestones.”
The Ruby Princess can accommodate up to 3,080 passengers and includes a piazza-style atrium which has small-bite eateries and a rotating line-up of street performers.
The oceanliner also features Sabatini's Italian and the Crown Grill steak house, plus a relaxing oasis just for adults called The Sanctuary.
With all these new options on the market, it seems whether old or young, single or coupled-up cruise ships are the place to be this holiday season.
