Transavia.com was founded in late 1965 by a Belgian and a Scottish private person under the name of Transavia Limburg N.V. with Maastricht Aachen Airport as its home base.
On 14 November 1966 it was awarded a charter licence to fly from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Transavia Airlines has Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as its home base and transports approximately 4.5 million passengers a year to holiday destinations in Europe and Africa.
