Bristol Airport Promises Retail Jobs
The retail and customer service jobs market in the south west has received a boost this week, with the completion of a new multi-million pound shopping and restaurant centre based at Bristol International Airport.
The £7 million project, which took six months to complete, has promised at least 85 new jobs working on one of the many new shops and restaurants set to open in the coming weeks.
Such high street names as WH Smiths and Superdrug will be included, catering for the five million travellers that are set to pass through Bristol International Airport this year alone.
Commenting on the new retail centre, Bristol Airport finance director Jim McAuliffe told the Weston Mercury: "We have worked hard to respond to the growing and varied demands of our passengers looking for special presents, designer bargains and last-minute holiday purchases."
Recent growth in passenger numbers has seen Bristol become the ninth biggest airport in the UK, increasing the need for investment in the retail sector.
