'Free' Internet Boom Good News For Job Hunters

Top Tips

The recent boom in the availability of 'free' broadband deals has been as beneficial to jobseekers in the IT and customer services sectors as it claims to be to internet customers, with many companies ready to expand and take on new staff.

Talk Talk, a subsidiary of the Carphone Warehouse, is one such success story, announcing that it is to recruit 400 new staff in both technical IT roles, ensuring that service operates as smoothly and as reliably as possible, and in customer service positions.

The urgent need for new people has been largely due to the massive demand for the service, which typically offers free broadband access as part of a telephone contract.

Companies have reported being inundated with subscriptions, with many customers having to wait months before being connected due to a shortage of staff.

Talk Talk itself has claimed that some 340,000 customers signed up to its service within eight weeks of its launch.
