Job Boost With Upmarket Casino
A new £13 million upmarket casino planned for Manchester is set to bring 350 jobs to the region, according to reports.
Manchester 235, due to open its doors in October, will come complete 14 roulette tables, 10 blackjack tables, a poker-room that will double as a conference room, two restaurants and a live entertainment venue offering music and comedy seven nights a week.
In fact, councillors hope the new development will improve Manchester's chances of being awarded Britain's one licence for a huge Las Vegas-style super casino.
London Clubs International, the company behind the casino, said it was hoping to tap into a new generation of more sophisticated gamblers.
"Theoretically, you could walk into this establishment and not bet a penny," chief executive Bill Timmins told the Manchester Evening News.
"We believe we have already seen in Manchester, with the revolution in restaurants and so on, that we need to offer people a complete night out."
