Jobs Boom With City's Future Growth
A proposed development of a major UK city could bring thousands of new homes and jobs over the next two decades, if the plan gets the go ahead.
A south west city is set to get thousands of new homes, highly-skilled jobs and major public transport improvements under a new proposal for its future growth, according to reports.
The South West Regional Assembly (SWRA) has just published a vision for development of Exeter over the next two decades.
The plans also propose 1,500 new homes and 20 hectares of employment land could be developed on the eastern and southern fringes of the city and large scale public transport enhancements to the west and north.
An economic boom in the city is expected to continue and bring with it 28,500 extra jobs, many in highly-skilled sectors, by 2026.
The proposal will now be subject to a 12-week consultation period by an independent panel after which the public will be able to have their say.
