Chelsea face Manchester United in Premiership decider.

After 35 games in this year's Premiership season the title looks set to be decided at Stanford Bridge as reigning champions Manchester United travel to arch rivals Chelsea.

The game is the must see event of the weekend's tv listings, and whoever wins it could go onto a league and cup double with both teams in strong positions in their Champions League semi-finals.

Chelsea have not lost at home for a staggering 80 games, but they will need to win if they are to claim their third title in four years. However, their run-up to the game has been severely affected following the death of club captain Frank Lampard's mother Pat. The England international is now a major doubt for the game, which would be a massive blow for the London side.

Man United are protecting a fragile three point lead at the top of the table and a win at Stanford Bridge would almost certainly lead to a record breaking tenth Premiership title. Their lead in the Premiership owes much to their talismanic midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo who has already scored 38 goals this season, 28 of which were in the league. The Manchester side also have the best defence in the division with 19 goals conceded so far this season. If they concede fewer than 23 it will be a new club record.

The last time the two sides met United trounced Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford, but the score line doesn't tell the whole story. The game was the first following Jose Mourinho's departure from the club after he failed to provide exciting enough football for owner Roman Abramovich. The team looked unsettled and as a result produced a timid display against the champions. But new manager Avram Grant steadied the ship and following Arsenal's league collapse, they became United's only rivals for the title.

Both sides are in good form leading into the match, but Chelsea have had an extra day to recover from their European antics. Fans have been treated to a plethora of football on tv, and this game will be a suitable ending to an exciting Premiership season. Away from the top there is the last automatic Uefa cup spot to be decided. The winner of Everton vs. Aston Villa are likely to claim the spot, in Sunday's televised game. The Blues have been hot on the heels of Liverpool for most of the season but run the risk of being pipped at the post by Martin O'Neil's high flying Aston Villa, who have scored 15 goals in their last three games.

For many of the players playing this weekend there will be no summer break as they return to action for their countries in Euro 2008. England fans will be in the unusual position of neutrals following the teams embarrassing failure to qualify for the competition.
