Following her appearance in last season's Ugly Betty, Victoria Beckham is rumoured to be making a return to the smash US show.

In one of the most dramatic episodes of the show Posh, or Perfect Spice as she was dubbed, played the bridesmaid of Wilhelmina Taylor in her marriage to Bradford Meade. The pop princess was eventually locked in a cupboard after showing Wilhelmina up in the run-up to the big day.

Posh made quite an impression on co-star Michael Urie after her first appearance. The actor who plays office assistant Marc St James said: "It was fun, she's just great. She's teeny tiny, she's so hot and she's sweet, sweet, sweet!

"David was there too and I think everyone who worked on the show popped in at some point to just look at them, because they are so gorgeous."

Star of Mean Girls Lindsay Lohan is another big name cameo for the show - she plays an old school adversary of Betty. It's rumoured that Lohan may star in a number of Betty episodes after she walked away from the new Charles Manson movie. Lohan's spokesperson Leslie Sloane told Reuters: "Unfortunately (the Manson movie) didn't come together quickly enough, and she was offered other roles, which she accepted and is looking forward to doing."

The first series of Ugly Betty follows the life of the title character Betty Suarez who lands a job at top fashion magazine Mode. She is appointed personal assistant to Daniel Meade, editor-in-chief and party animal of Mode, but she soon becomes embroiled in the politics of the magazine. Wilhelmina Slater, creative director of the magazine, was furious when Bradford Meade appointed his son to the position and hatches plot after plot to oust him from power.

Things are complicated further by the mysterious death of Fey Sommers, Bradford's lover, and a blackmail campaign is started against the media mogul. As the season progresses the other Meade son Alex returns, but as Alexis, a woman! An almighty struggle breaks out for the magazine as Wilhelmina seduces Bradford and gets him to propose to her. Just as Mode looks set to fall to Wilhelmina, Bradford has a heart attack at the church on the day of the wedding, ruining her plans and sending the magazine into further turmoil. On Bradford's death bed he is re-united with wife Claire but she is sentenced to jail for the death of Fey and Bradford loses the fight for his life.

With all this happening at Mode, Betty was hoping for a quiet life at home, but no luck there either. Her sister loses her fiancee, leaving her nephew without a father and Dad Ignacio confesses to being an illegal immigrant meaning he can't receive any medication for his health problems. Explosive!
