Car Insurance Premiums Written In The Stars

A person's likelihood of making a claim on their car insurance could be determined by their star sign, research suggests.

A person's star sign can help predict their driving ability, new research suggests.

It's long been known that car insurance premiums are affected by a person's date of birth, with younger drivers typically charged more.

New research, however, suggests that being born under certain star signs can make some drivers safer than others, being less likely to claim on their car insurance or receive a driving conviction.

According to Moneysupermarket.com, Sagittarians are the road's safest users, making seven per cent fewer claims and receiving eight per cent fewer convictions.

Arians, meanwhile, are the UK's worst drivers, receiving six per cent more convictions than the average motorist and making nine per cent more car insurance claims.

"Some drivers will read more into this than others, but it's fair to say we were surprised how closely this year’s claims and conviction statistics mirrored traditional star sign traits," said Moneysupermaket's Richard Mason.

Aquarians, Capricorns and Taureans were also named among those road users to avoid, all being more likely to be involved in a collision.
