Home Cover For Uni Students

Policyholders who are parents can take advantage of an addition to their household insurance cover that will help cover their kids' possessions while they are away at university.

Parents are being offered the chance to help protect their children's possessions when they are away studying at university.

With the rising costs of student fees and accommodation, parents can face a huge financial burden when their children go away to university.

Student houses are also one of the most common targets for burglars due to their relatively poor security and are often filled with high value items such as computers, mobile phones and stereos totaling on average over£4,000.

More Than insurance is making 15 per cent of their household insurance cover (worth £11,250) available to policyholders for their children at no extra cost, while they are studying at college or university.

The cover includes family legal services such as a free legal helpline, online legal documents, legal fees and mediation services.

"Parents can have a lot to think about when their children go away to university, to ensure they are financially secure and protected against any eventuality," explained Craig Allen, head of home insurance at More Than.

"With our students' possessions cover, parents can rest assured that their children's valuable belongings are properly covered. Our legal helpline can also help parents should they need to deal with sorting out leases or disputes with commented landlords."
