Satisfied Nationwide Credit Card Customers
Nationwide credit card holders are the most satisfied compared with those of other providers, according to a new industry survey.
Nationwide building society has come top in a credit card customer satisfaction survey, beating the seven biggest card issuers in the UK.
Despite the main seven credit card companies - Barclaycard, Capital One, MBNA, Lloyds TSB, HSBC, HBoS and RBS/ NatWest – accounting for 86 per cent of the market in the UK, the group was voted worst for service, according to price comparison site uSwitch.com.
72 per cent of Nationwide and Morgan Stanley cardholders are most satisfied with customer support services offered by their provider.
Barclaycard had the lowest percentage of satisfied customers at 66 per cent.
"Credit card companies should be wary of ignoring their customers' satisfaction on areas other than price," said Nick White from uSwitch.com.
"More and more people have a relationship with the provider across several different product areas, such as current accounts and loans, as well as credit cards.
"This increases the likelihood that they will need to contact customer services, and it could be that one bad experience prompts a customer to move all of their business to a competitor."
Customers were least satisfied with interest rates as one in five customers feel that their card offers interest rates that are better than average.
