No medical insurance is simply a life insurance policy which does not require you to have a medical examination before taking out the policy. This type of insurance is designed for healthy individuals who would have otherwise put off purchasing life insurance as they had neither the time nor the inclination to have a medical examination.
Insurers will take into account a number of factors when assessing an individual’s suitability for life insurance without a medical examination. These include the individual’s age, previous medical history and the level and type of cover required. However, generally speaking, if you do not have any serious illnesses such as cancer, HIV and diabetes, the likelihood is you will qualify for no medical life insurance – most healthy people do.
The payouts for a no medical exam life insurance policy tend to be lower than if you buy cover which includes a medical examination. However, this isn’t generally a problem if you’re not looking for a particularly large policy.
Have a shop around for the most suitable policy for you: Most insurers offer no medical life insurance and will provide quotes with how much the insurance will be, as well as the cost of the premiums. Providers of no medical life insurance tend to pride themselves on a quick and easy process.
When you have decided on a no medical insurance policy, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding your health and medical history. It is important to be as honest as possible with your answers, as if you have a medical condition, details about which you do not put on the form, your insurance will be void. Note that the insurance provider may request additional information about your health from your GP.
