Single Holiday Travel Insurance Deal
Travel insurance is becoming less of an optional extra to your single holiday trip, and more of a compulsory purchase. We try not to worry about any unexpected occurrences whilst on holiday, but unfortunately, every holiday comes with its risks.
If you book a single holiday through a tour operator, they may well throw in travel insurance free with the holiday. Provided the cover meets your requirements, this is a really good way to save money. However, if your tour operator does not offer this, the chances are they will try to sell you a single holiday trip insurance policy. This is probably the simplest way of getting a policy, as it can be arranged with no extra hassle when you book your holiday. However, it is rarely the cheapest option. Shopping around really pays off when buying holiday insurance! You have absolutely no obligation to purchase insurance through your tour operator, so the majority of people nowadays look to the internet to purchase their cover for more competitive prices.
Single holiday trip insurance will cover obvious events, such as a stolen wallet or purse. More comprehensive policies will cover various occurrences such as delays, cancellation/curtailment and damaged/lost luggage. Many policies will cover medical expenses for accidental injuries, and even accidental death. You should check before you purchase your insurance exactly what it does and does not cover.
When purchasing your single holiday trip cover, the insurer will usually inquire as to any reasons why you may be at a particularly high risk on holiday, such as medical conditions or potentially dangerous activities: The higher your risk, the higher the cost of the cover. Many insurance providers now offer different forms of insurance for higher risk customers to cater more specifically for their needs. For example, rather than purchasing single holiday trip insurance, it may be more beneficial to buy backpacking cover or skiing cover for example, if this is the type of holiday you are going on.
