Contactless technology 'can aid UK shoppers'
Shoppers can benefit from the introduction of contactless technology.Richard Bradley, director of Acceptcards.co.uk, observed that over the next 12 to 18 months he expects to see this equipment rolled out across UK shopping stores.
"The benefits are clear to see for both retailers and customers, with the speeding up of transaction times, particularly in high foot-flow environments like fast food outlets, transport hubs, et cetera," he added.
Mr Bradley went on to note it is up to merchants to make sure the technology is available and treated as normal going forward.
He stated any retailer currently reviewing their payment options should look into contactless technology.
Earlier this month, HSBC announced it is to become the latest lender to offer the technology and it means consumers can buy any product up to £15 with a single tap.
This amount will then increase to £20 from the start of June in time for the Olympic Games.
