Ed Miliband receives backing of his brother

By Martin Fell

Ed Miliband has been given the unwavering support of his brother David, who has claimed that Ed is the best man to lead Labour to victory in the next general election.

He told the BBC that the current Labour leader was more than happy to confront the difficult issues of the day.

"I want him to win the election and become prime minister because he is my brother, because he is the leader of my party and because I think he can make a big difference for the country," he told the news provider.

He also discussed his decision to step out of the political limelight by focusing on grassroots issues.

David claimed that he had not abandoned politics or stopped thinking about the issues that are important to him. He said he has spent the last 18 months attempting to galvanise grassroots support for the party and ensure that the voice of the voters is heard.

One of the key issues that Labour leader Ed Miliband is currently campaigning against is the introduction of the Health and Social Care Bill, which he claims is setting the NHS up for mass privatisation.
