New Dublin to Dubai flight route announced

Those on the lookout for the best travel deals when heading to the Middle East may be interested in a new flight route announced by Emirates.

The airline revealed a daily service between Dublin and Dubai will act as a major tourism, transport and business link for the two regions.

It is hoped the new pathway will prove a major boost for a number of sectors, while also offering those wishing to escape to sunnier climes - such as Australia, New Zealand and India - greater options when it comes to selecting a journey best suited to their individual needs.

Tim Clark, president of Emirates, which flew its first flight out of Dubai in 1985, said the move now sees the airline connecting Ireland to hundreds of destinations around the world, adding: "Solid early bookings have demonstrated that the demand is there, opening up new markets for passengers and cargo to and from the republic."
