Senior set for Rhinos milestone

Leeds Rhinos centre Keith Senior is in line to make his 500th professional appearance in tomorrow's Super League match against Hull FC.

The England international has played more than 300 games for Leeds, in addition to 140 for his old team Sheffield Eagles and 55 for representative teams including 33 Test matches for Great Britain.

Senior, who made his Leeds debut against the now defunct London Broncos in September 1999, holds the current record for Super League appearances since the competition's inception in 1995, with 341 matches.

His total includes 12 as a substitute and he has scored 229 tries.

And although he still lags a good distance behind the all-time appearance record holder (Wigan full-back Jim Sullivan with 928 between 1921 and 1946) the comparison is somewhat unfair due to the sheer volume of matches that were played in previous eras.
