Tablets 'increasing in popularity'
There are likely to be many people in Britain currently on the lookout for cheap iPads, as it has been claimed that tablets could overtake PCs in the near future.Speaking at a conference hosted by Goldman Sachs, Tim Cook, chief executive officer at Apple, noted the trajectory of the iPad is currently "off the charts", with more than 55 million of the products already snapped up by consumers, the Daily Telegraph reports.
And with a new version of the item expected to be unveiled in March, coupled with other manufacturers coming up with similar devices of their own, tablets could well be the future of the computer industry.
Mr Cook - who used to act as Apple's chief operating officer and is on its Board of Directors - stated: "We thought that the tablet market would become larger than the PC market and it was just a matter of the time it took for that to occur."
