Van Persie praises teammates after derby win

Two-goal hero Robin van Persie praised his side's efforts after Arsenal swept aside Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.

The Dutch international scored either side of a Cesc Fabregas wonder goal, and believed his side were full value for the three points.

Van Persie said: "I thought the game was really tight in the first half hour, but after we got the first goal they seemed to tire.

"We came out with the right attitude and the spirit was good despite not creating many chances before the first goal."

Van Persie was full of admiration for Fabregras’s goal, which came just 11 seconds have Spurs had restarted after conceding the first.

"He showed great technique to take it past the players he did," the Dutchman added.

"Their player gave us the ball, but it was down to Cesc's brilliance to be able to score a goal from the position he picked up the ball."
