Top Tips

A study by private healthcare organisation Bupa found that almost half (48 per cent) of women would give up passion in order to reach the century milestone.

Men were revealed as the more romantic of the sexes, with 69 per cent saying that passionate love was more important to them than the prospect of living to be a 100 years old.

Sex and passion were only two aspects of life that Brits felt they could do without if it meant living longer – 42 per cent also declared they would give up indulgent food and alcohol in order to guarantee longevity .

However, while romance may not be a top priority, a startling 94 per cent of people said that living to 100 was not as important as having friends and family for company, and 74 per cent said they would not give up money in the quest for a longer life.
