Match.com launches new personality test

One of the UK's biggest online dating sites has launched a new tool which takes a scientific approach to the art of finding love on the net, WebWire.com reported yesterday (December 3rd).

Match.com, which was named as the country's leading online dating provider in September by Nielsen Net Ratings, is offering its members a free and innovative new personality test.

It features a total of 56 questions for daters to answer and also splits personalities into four fundamental categories identified with brain chemical systems - explorer, builder, negotiator and director.

The tool was created by Dr Helen Fisher, a renowned figure in the field of biological anthropology, who produced it by using her considerable experience of the nature of attraction and compatibility.

She told the website: "The reasons behind why we love are incredibly complex, but it is possible to scientifically understand why people partner better with certain types.

"Fifty per cent of personality has a biological basis and until now the search for love has largely been blind.

"This test lifts the veil on how people unconsciously go about finding the right match by answering the question of why we love who we love."

According to Dr Fisher, the 'match insights' test has already been taken by over six million members of Match.com's various online dating sites around the world, with a great deal of success.

She explained that people have found it "most empowering" to be able to use scientific studies of human chemistry to guide their decisions when it comes to finding their perfect match.

The dating provider has also confirmed that it will launch a premium service in the early part of next year which will deliver the best matches by personality type to each user of the tool on a daily basis.

Jason Stockwood, the international managing director of Match.com, expressed his pride that the company is attempting to push the boundaries of the services offered by the online dating industry.

He told WebWire: "Helping people find love is an art Match.com has perfected over the past 13 years.

"The reason that we have helped so many millions of people find love successfully is that we are always looking at new ways to make love happen.

"Innovation is at the heart of our business and the new personality test is one of the many things we are doing to help our members find the partner they're made to be with."

Match.com was launched in 1995 and it now operates leading subscription-based online dating sites in 40 countries, incorporating six continents and 15 different languages.
