Scooter push Madonna from number one album spot

German techno band Scooter have managed to topple Madonna from the number one album spot in the UK.

Madonna had topped the album chart with her latest release Hard Candy but Scooter's Jumping All Over the World went straight in at number one, pushing her into second place.

The Queen of Pop still reigns over the singles chart however with her hit 4 Minutes, which also features Justin Timberlake.

Welsh singer Duffy is in third place with her album Rockferry while Def Leppard's latest album, Songs From the Sparkle Lounge, was a new entry at tenth.

In the singles chart the highest new entry was Coldplay's track Violet Hill, taken from their forthcoming album Viva La Vida.

Sam Sparrow's Black and Gold and Wiley's Wearing my Rolex hold the second and third place in the singles chart respectively.

Heartbreaker from Will.i.am, featuring Cheryl Cole, rose four places to fourth.
