Apple MacBook Pro

The Apple MacBook Pro 13.3 inch laptop is the latest and greatest offering from Apple’s highly popular MacBook range, with the 13 inch model being upgraded to the Pro ranks. It is primarily targeted at media professionals and creative enthusiasts, but will appeal to a wider demographic due to its mid entry price tag, powerful features and Apple’s stylish and innovative brand values.

The central processor is powered by the 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, and includes 2Gb of DDR3 RAM which is upgradeable to 8Gb. The 160Gb Hard drive provides plenty of storage space for documents, photos, films and music, and the graphics hardware is taken care of with an integrated Nvidia Geforce 9400M graphics card. The 13.3 inch viewing display is LED backlit, improving contrast, brightness and energy efficiency, whilst cutting power usage by 30% compared to traditional LCD models. The display is also completely glass with no edges or embossing into the unit, creating a very classy and slick looking fascia. The thinness of the product is a signature of the Apple brand, as is their commitment to slick operational controls. The keyboard has the individual keys segregated and cut into the aluminium casing which prevents the keys being too close together, and is also backlit too, excellent for typing in poor lighting conditions. This generation of the MacBook Pro introduces an innovative new Multi-Touch track pad that operates the mouse cursor and aids on screen navigation. The Multi-touch element refers to the sensitivity of the track pad to the number of fingertips in contact with it, performing different actions depending on the variation. Scrolling a webpage or document for instance can be done with two fingers, whilst a swipe with all four will instantly display the desktop. This dispenses with the traditional buttons for selecting items, and operations can be customised giving the user plenty of interface options.

The outer structure of the MacBook Pro is also made from aluminium which has been chosen due to its combination of strength and lightness, contributing to the portability of the product. The unit weighs just 4.5 pounds including the battery which offers around 7 hours of battery life and is non removable, however Apple have developed a battery that retains its full battery life for the first 1000 charges, which is on average about 4-5 years worth of usage.
