Au Moulin Vert retains the relaxed, free-spirited atmosphere of old Paris that characterises the leafy 14eme neighbourhood. Something of a historic restaurant, it was once a favourite of poets Victor Hugo and Alfred de Musset and other elite literary figures of the Romantic period. Au Moulin Vert was so charming that everyone who could get a table took advantage of the easygoing atmosphere and exquisite food. It's still the case today. It's easy to feel why, sat next to the tree growing in the middle of the glass-roofed, plant-filled dining terrace, around which waiters wearing a tie and apron move dexterously serving Gérard Chagot's excellent traditional, seasonal French cooking. Wife Jocelyne joins him in running the wonderful Au Moulin Vert.
