For a spot of urbanised, Saharan-themed socialising in the middle of Soho, this little north African restaurant provides the perfect mise-en-scène for pre-theatre soirees and raucous evening meals. Located on the corner of Greek Street and Old Compton Street, Maison Touregue has a moody candles-and-cushions Moroccan-style interior with low tables and lanterns, and downstairs there is a basement bar perfect for pre-dinner cocktails. The menu - prepared by Lebanese and Moroccan chefs - comes with a side-order of belly-dancing and shisha-smoking, and favourite dishes include the lamb tagine, the chicken pastillas flavoured with honey and cinnamon, and the cous cous served with sweet chutney.
