Chez Françoise has been a Paris institution since it was founded after the war, especially among politicians from just across the street as well as travellers, journalists and elegant Parisian society. It is set in the lower ground floor of the Aérogare des Invalides and is decorated in a smart, modern style that is also businesslike and welcoming. Quite a feat! There are also special jazz evenings. Hospitality here is famously warm. The traditional French menu includes dishes such as terrine of rabbit with small onions and spices, main course of steamed codfish with winter veg and aioli sauce, and desserts of crepes suzette 'Monsieur Ali'. Wines, cigars, and special menus are very good indeed.
