A fine Mexican restaurant, run by Mexicans - now there's an appealing prospect. The ground floor of this stylish Hampstead Rd restaurant (only 5 minutes from Warren St tube & Fitzrovia) with it's decor in cream and red with an imposing separate bar area, provides a warm welcome from their friendly staff. 'Downstairs' is a separate lounge and tequila bar where everything from salsa, Latin, Mexican and electronic nights is showcased. Your hosts are Mexican as is the chef, providing authentic Mexican cuisine. One speciality is molcajete - chicken or beef served in a stone bowl, with salsa roja, cheese, chorizo, spring onions, coriander, avocado and tortillas. All prepared to order, there is a wait, but boy are they worth it. A true taste (feel and sound) of Mexico.
