When it comes to regional Italian cuisine, Bellini is the real deal. Set in the heart of New Town, Bellini's kitchen is under the passionate direction of Angelo Cimini, a native Italian who trained rigorously in Abruzzi and who has cooked in some of Venice's most renowned kitchens. At the front of house, his wife Gina Cimini manages an expert staff. The formal Georgian dining room, with its chandeliers, Bellini prints, and It5aliian furniture has an air of relaxed enjoyment and diners tend to linger. The inventive starters include lobster and prawn salad with creamy pesto puree, pastas include Crespelle Carlos, a favourite of Charlie Chaplin. The classic mains include fillet steak al barolo with rosemary and onions. Desserts include a stunningly-presented tiramisu. All the dishes are beautiful to see. Bellini is a superb choice for business dinners and romantic evenings, or just for those homesick for Italy.
