Alfredo's motto is 'Legendary cuisine since 1914' but Alfredo's heyday here at Rockefeller Center is definitely the glamourous era of the mid 1960's. Think Sofia Loren, think Rat Pack, think sharp-suited men and their glossy-pouted girls. Got the scene? Twelve-foot ceilings, acres of space, enormous portraits, and dozens of pix of celebs chowing down on Alfredo's eponymous fettuccine which was created in the kitchen of the original Alfredo in Roma. It's probably best to enjoy the fettuccine alfredo as a first course and save some room for classic mains courses like chicken marinated in lemon and rosemary, grilled and served with roasted polenta followed by sambuca-soaked vanilla ice cream with sambuca-infused chocolate sauce. There's also a Baccanale menu that recreates the gustatorial delights of ancient Rome. The service is premier league.
