Back from a recent brush-up but still oozing its usual glamour, Axis at the luxurious One Aldwych Hotel has reopened with a stunning new design by Mary Fox Linton and a new Modern British menu from former Marco Pierre White student Executive Chef Tony Fleming. Decked out in sultry green Thai silk panels with soft leather accents of black and purple, Axis is sassy for a romantic tête-à-tête, but subdued enough for a power lunch. The modern British menu embraces all that's good and seasonal, sourcing local, sustainable and organic ingredients wherever possible. Start with a Aged Cheddar cheese soufflé, tomato tartare, baby artichokes continue with Roast breast and liver of duck, dandelion, honey glazed onions finally finish you meal with the chocolate fondant, honey spiced pears, almond milk ice cream.
