The Archduke

The Archduke Restaurant on London's South Bank is set in stunningly converted Victorian railway arches just a step from the Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre, London Eye, London IMAX, and Waterloo Station, so it's packed with arty types, tourists, and clever commuters who know where to relax before hitting the rails. Set on multiple levels, The Archduke is filled with light and greenery. The restaurant is on the first floor and there's a conservatory with neo-colonial fans and Casablanca rattan furniture. Live jazz wafts around the high ceilings from Monday through Saturday. Modern European dishes include starter of duck and puy lentil terrine with plum compote, main course of sea bass with couscous and Mediterranean vegetables with pesto dressing, and dessert of thick toffee pecan pie with cream.
