Rosewood Bistro restaurant is in the Essex village of Stock, outside Chelmsford. It's part of Greenwoods Hotel & Spa, a beautiful 17th century manor house, but you don't have to stay there to get in on the fab food action. Start with smoked duck served with blueberry and rhubarb marmalade. If you're particularly peckish, tackle the traditional fish of the day - or try the fillet of beef set on rosti potato served with a pink peppercorn sauce. With apple wild pear and chocolate fondant rounding things off nicely, the Rosewood Bistro is a find for Essex epicureans.
