The Second Floor Restaurant in the Manchester branch of Harvey Nichols is a striking place with granite flooring, clean white walls, floor to ceiling windows and coloured lighting that changes on the hour. Start with potted salt beef, pickled onion chutney and spiced brioche toast, then go for pancetta-wrapped monkfish tail with saffron risotto and lemon dressing. Finish up with the cute trio of clementine crème brulée, blood orange jelly and bucksfizz lolly, as you gaze out over Triangle Square and pity the poor mortals below. Chic doesn't come any chic-er.
