As super-stylish as the domed building housing it, The Point has the air of a classic belle-epoque French brasserie where art-deco chandeliers cast a sultry glow across narrow neat rows of white-clothed tables, mirrored walls, long stainless steel bar and privacy-giving glazed screens. The well-loved menu does simplicity proud with a contemporary twist. Try the Chinese pastry of local haggis with champ and a tomato butter sauce, followed by a fine 14oz Scottish sirloin steak (from the grill menu). The daily-changing three-course menu delivers further fine examples of local produce.
