Thames Indian restaurant near London's Waterloo station is a long-time local favourite. It's been here as Thames Tandoori since 1985 with no signs of flagging. The clean, smart restaurant is decorated in colours of saffron and curry, the sea and the night sky, with Indian artworks adorning the walls. Al the staff are from Bangladesh, so you know the menu, a combination of both Indian and Bangladeshi dishes, is authentic to the last grain of rice. Signature dishes include the exclusive Goan Crab Bhuna and Gosht Shimla Mirch and the Nalli Gosth, a slow-cooked lamb dish. The welcome is warm and friendly and the set lunch deal is a bargain.
