The Jam House restaurant, bar and live music venue in Edinburgh has to be one of the most exciting, intimate places in the country for live music - and the fine dining restaurant experience matches it. The Jam House, brainchild of Jools 'Later' Holland and designer Neil Tibbatt, was inspired by the House of Blues group in the States. This Georgian building used to be BBC Broadcasting House and it is made for performance. The very cool, sleek restaurant has godlike views in the balcony overlooking the small auditorium space. Diners use the chapel-like private bar adjacent and enjoy fresh, local produce alchemised into fine Scottish dishes sparked with international flavours, with a decent choice of vegetarian dishes. The Jam House may be the best first date experience in town.
