Nestled away in the back of the ever popular Glasgow bar and restaurant, The Gate, The Secret Garden conjures up images of the adventures of Mary Lennox in the book of the same name. However, this Secret Garden is a much more slick and contemporary space, highlighting the modern Asian tapas menu, perfect for sharing with friends. Divided into four sections: chicken, seafood, meat and vegetable, the small portions allow rich flavours to shine through. Regular favourites such as crab sweet potoato fritters pack a welcome chilli and lemongrass punch, and lamb meatballs infused with harrissa highlight the North African chilli and rose petal paste. Puds are strictly old-school, complete with sticky toffee pudding and Eton mess on the menu.
