The Curieux Spaghetti Bar restaurant in Paris, just behind the Centre Pompidou on the Marais side, is fabulously unique. Le tout Paris gathers under the spaghetti-measure chandeliers at the long red bar for vodka shot 'Chups' flavoured with, oh, caramel or cactus, and served in kiddie paste pots. Then they move on to the enormous portions of spaghetti both conventional - tomato sauce with basil and parmesan - and madly inspired - Laughing Cow with ham, or Mexican, or Thai. The long room is hung with an ever-changing array of wallpaper in two-metre stripes. So today it might be quite cool tones of beige but tomorrow red cowboys, orange sunsets and pink flock. Chill to DJs at the weekend and stay late - til 2 or 4 - every night. The Curieux Spaghetti Bar is a hit.
