Daru restaurant in Paris is just down the rue from the Russian Orthodox Cathedrale in little Russia - the perfect place for a home from home for nostalgic émigrés who have found their way here since 1918. The warm wood tables and paneling, blood-coloured banquettes and hanging lights, barrels of vodka, authentic art works and collection of glasses in proper sizes for sampling wine, beer, vodka - there are never fewer than 20 on offer - create a cosy ambience for meals and conversation.
