Suka restaurant in London is a see-and-be-seen locale in the Sanderson hotel, that Philippe Starck-designed urban spa in the heart of W1. Suka is the fiefdom of superhot NY chef Zak Pelaccio, the man behind scenester restaurants the Fatty Crab and 5 Ninth. Seems Zak fell in love with authentic Malaysian cuisine and has brought his own version to London using British produce and French techniques, with intense flavours intact. Signature dish is suckling pig Penang with shredded cabbage, cucumber, steamed buns and spring onions. Suka's dramatic ground-floor setting encompasses a hidden space along the Long Bar and the beautiful Garden Terrace. The witty interior is lovely with a relaxed elegance and great buzz.
