Leading out of Cardiff along Cowbridge Road East, just as you think you're unlikely to see anything else of much note, you'll stumble across Cardamom. An unassuming Indian restaurant, Cardamom is nonetheless a stylish alternative to the swathes of overpowering flock wallpaper elsewhere. Here you're more likely to find sleek wooden floors and simple cream walls hung with bold art works. It's no surprise that Cardamom's an award winner - taking an Echo Food and Drink Award in 2004 and being named Welsh Curry House of the Year 2007 - because the food is a delight. Offering typical Tandoori dishes plus a raft of mouthwatering specialities it's no wonder this is Cardiff's A-list curry house.
