Au P'tit Cahoua restaurant in Paris near the Jardin des Plantes is a gorgeous Moroccan restaurant that leaves all North African cliches behind. The comfortable and inviting dining room is full of light with crazed mosaic tables and floors, pretty pierced screens and wrought iron detailing, tented ceiling, imported lighting and big mirrors everywhere. It's cool. The menu features both the tagines, couscous and pastillas you require from your Moroccan restaurants but made more lightly and healthily, as well as some inventive dishes that will intrigue you: triangular pastry briouats with chevre, almonds and mint, chicken and mango tagine. Fans adore the marinated and fried legumes that arrive on your table as soon as you are seated, as well as the geniunely attentive service.
