Le Lutin dans le Jardin restaurant in Paris is a little slice of peace -- some say paradise -- in the intensely busy St Michel area. Not two minutes' stroll from the Seine on the Left Bank, this intimate restaurant has the air of a country courtyard with exposed beams, stone walls, rustic wooden seating and charming flowers and details. The chef/patron uses only the freshest ingredients in dishes like seared foie gras with chutney fruits, fillet of seabass with melted leeks, and a melting dark chocolate dessert that is nearly divine. This pretty, romantic restaurant is a treasure.
