Airlines Increasing Comfort for Passengers

Airlines are increasing the creature comforts on flights in order to attract more customers, with even low-cost airlines getting in the act.

Delta Airlines has already announced that it will install 'lie-flat' seats on all of its long-haul aircraft for business class passengers, and budget airline Ryanair announced last month that it would be installing systems to allow customers to use their mobile phones mid-flight.

However, easyJet has said that they have no plans to join the current drive to improve the flight experience, focussing instead on keeping costs down.

"easyJet has no current plans to introduce mobile phones onboard its aircraft as we are looking at other innovations first which we believe will be more beneficial passengers," commented Sarah Pritchett, easyJet spokesperson.

"Airlines are certainly more focused on making life easier for passengers, and easyJet is about providing low cost with care and convenience.

"However the low cost business model is also about keeping things simple so we are unlikely to start introducing flat-beds."
