Car hire 'firm's add-ons make it an industry leader'
Things that are often not covered by a car hire firm's insurance include damage to wheels, tyres, the undercarriage, windows and windscreens and the interior. Exclusion clauses such as these can leave holidaymakers with a large bill to foot when they take back their vehicles. Holiday Autos managing director Stuart Nassos said: "Holiday Autos is delighted to once again be leading the car hire industry with the introduction of this innovative new protection for our customers. "For as little as £4.50, consumers are now fully protected and should not worry anymore about returning hire cars. This small cost brings total peace of mind." He added that the firm was "thrilled" to have recently been named as having the Best Car Hire Website by Which? Magazine. "We thrive on giving our customers the best service possible and the Which? Magazine award confirms that," Mr Nassos said. The firm's Total Damage Excess Waiver also covers collision damage excess liability, theft damage excess liability and allows for drivers to lose their keys. However, holidaymakers should bear in mind that when they return their vehicles they will still be charged the excess, but they will be able to claim it back by filling in an accident report form and sending it to the firm within 28 days. For those who don't fancy forking out £4.50 a day, Holiday Autos also has the Standard Damage Excess Waiver policy, which costs £2.50 per day and covers collision damage excess liability and theft waiver excess liability. However, damage to peripherals is not covered. Earlier this month, Holiday Autos announced that it is making a new range of hybrid cars available for pick-up in four European destinations to help holidaymakers be green abroad.
