South Africa Courts Chinese Tourists

South Africa is hoping to attract more Chinese tourists.

Tourism is a vital contributor to the South African economy with recent figures showing that business is booming.

At the same time, China's recent economic growth has meant that more Chinese citizens than ever can now afford to take foreign holidays.

A delegation from SA Tourism visits Shanghai this week to promote South Africa as a holiday destination.

"This is going to be a fantastic experience for the Chinese, that will only be rivalled by an actual visit to South Africa," SA Tourism spokesman Zolelwa Mukhozo told China's People's Daily newspaper.

South Africa makes the most of its natural assets to appeal to both the more adventurous holidaymaker and people looking for a quiet beach holiday.
