Edinburgh Holiday: Airport Trials New Text Service
Edinburgh airport is trialling a new text information service which will allow passengers to request and receive information via their mobile phones.
Under the scheme, a team of 'texperts' will provide information on a range of issues, from local transport links to the availability of accommodation in the city, Travel Daily News reports.
The pilot scheme, which will initially operate for two months, will be available to those wanting information from Edinburgh airport whatever their location.
It is hoped that the scheme will reduce the need for people to visit the airport's information desk or call its telephone helpline.
Commenting, Edinburgh airport's managing director, Richard Jeffrey said: "64BAA is a unique and exciting service, which Edinburgh airport is pleased to be able to offer passengers through this trial."
"Excellent customer service is something we pride ourselves on but we are always striving to raise the bar, and we hope that this service will further enhance passengers' experience of using the airport."
