Flights to Liverpool: Internal UK Flights

Flights to Liverpool from which airports in the UK?
Given the excellent motorway links to the north-west of England from most other parts of the country, it is unsurprising that there are few domestic links from John Lennon Airport. One of the most established air routes in the country, Liverpool to the Isle of Man, still departs daily, allowing for significant time savings when compared to the slow and usually rough ferry journey across the Irish Sea.
Over the summer months, the numerous charter flights to the beaches of the continent are supplemented by regular services to Jersey.
Airlines which fly to Liverpool John Lennon Airport
Both of the major British low-cost airlines flying out of the UK, Ryanair and easyJet operate numerous services out of Liverpool John Lennon Airport, though their international flights significantly outweigh their internal offerings.
easyJet flies to Belfast International, from where there are further links to the rest of Europe, while rival Ryanair offers budget flights to neighbouring Belfast City Airport.
In the summer, Discover Jersey charters flights to the Channel Islands for passengers seeking a holiday in the sun.
Where would you have to fly over?
Before the advent of low-cost flights within the UK, travellers wanting to go from the Northern Irish capital from Liverpool had to endue a lengthy and often choppy crossing across the Irish Sea. Now, however, budget flights jet over the stretch of water in under an hour, with flights to and from the Isle of Man taking less time than that.
A couple of areas of interest in and around Liverpool
As the 2008 European Capital of Culture, Liverpool has a wealth of attractions to tempt UK travellers. From the 18th century grandeur of its iconic waterfront to the modern art of the Tate gallery, all cultural tastes are catered for, while the city centre boasts some of the country's best shopping, including the boutiques made famous by numerous footballers' wives. Of course, a trip to Anfield, the home of Liverpool Football Club serves as the big draw for many, while the legacy of the Beatles, including the Cavern Club, still brings in tourists from all over the world.
Outside of the city, the Lake District is just a short drive away, as is Blackpool, though demand for flights soars at the time of the Grand National or one of the many major gold tournaments held at the nearby Birkdale course.
