Winners of Twenty20 to face England in warm-up game

The winners of this weekend's Twenty20 cup will be rewarded with a match against England, it has been announced.

England will play the winners ahead of their £10 million match against the Stanford Super Stars in October.

The game will be one of six games added to the Stanford Super Series being held in the Caribbean.

Middlesex, Durham, Essex and Kent face each other in the finals of the Twenty20 competition at the Rosebowl on Saturday.

ECB chief executive David Collier welcomed the arrangement, allowing a domestic team the opportunity to taste the international game.

"The Stanford Super Series offers a real incentive to the final four sides in tomorrow's Twenty20 Cup final at the Rose Bowl," he said.

"I am sure that Durham, Essex, Kent and Middlesex will all be excited at the prospect of travelling to Antigua in October.

"For the Twenty20 Cup winners, the Stanford Super Series will also bring real benefits and will allow the players to showcase their talents against the Stanford 20/20 champions from the Caribbean.

The domestic champions will also play Trinidad and Tobago in the Stanford Super Series.
